Last Coin & Collectible Show -10/2 (4)

Oct. 2, 2011 –Hollywood Coin & Collectibles Show (1st Sunday Show)

DAVID PARK CENTER - HOLLYWOOD, FLORIDA

The show had good attendance with good interest in bullion (1624+ Gold & 30+ Silver) and (for me) early type coins.  I like to stock low grade early type for those who want an inexpensive example for their collection.  The last few shows have shown more interest in this area.  This Sunday I bought a NGC AU Details Type 2 Gold Dollar & Some Early Coppers (1803-1810).  Pricing for me was so-so with more dealer to dealer trading than usual.  Other dealers tell me Sells of Bullion was was "off" due to the resent decrease in pricing (they are holding on to their positions for now).  Morgan’s & Peace Dollars were moving at good prices in high grades.  I showed The Fractional Currency I bought at the West Palm Beach Show & had some interest in obsolete notes. Buyers seemed to be a bit more cautious and a little slower in committing on new purchases.  Traffic was good with a little slowing in buying for me - possibly due to the decrease in metal prices.  I enjoyed talking to my regulars and picked up a couple more email addresses for the Hollywood & Ft. Lauderdale coin clubs email list.
