Last Coin & Collectible Show -11/06
11/6/2011 –Hollywood Coin & Collectibles Show (1st Sunday Show)
Harry Schwartz had his first session 0f: A 1/2 Hr Seminar on Beginning Coin Collecting for Young Numismatists. He had about 6 kids & their parents interested in his introduction to coin collecting. This was a good start and we plan to continue this at each show. (Thanks Lou Kleinman for the Coins Harry gave out to the Kids.)
The show had good attendance with good interest in bullion (1730+ Gold & 34+ Silver) and (for me) early type coins. I like to stock low grade early type for those who want an inexpensive example for their collection. The last few shows have shown more interest in this area. This week I bought a nice collection of Obsolete Banknotes (20 certified pieces). Pricing for me was good with more dealer to dealer trading than usual. Morgan’s & Peace Dollars were moving at good prices in high grades. I showed The Fractional Currency I bought at the West Palm Beach Show & had some interest in obsolete notes. Buyers seemed a little more open to committing on new purchases than the last couple of weeks. I enjoyed talking to my regulars and picked up a couple more email addresses for the Hollywood & Ft. Lauderdale coin clubs email list.
